What is beef tallow soap?
Beef tallow is rendered beef fat, and it has been used to make soap for generations because it works. During soapmaking it reacts with lye and becomes soap. It helps us make a hard bar with a dense, dependable lather that holds up in the shower. Why we use beef tallow
Does it smell like beef?
No. By the time a bar is finished, the tallow has turned into soap. What you smell is the scent we put in it. More on that here
Which bar should I start with?
Fresh Springs is the easy place to start. If you want something warmer or bolder, try Whiskey Bent, The Gentleman, Goin' Out, or Holy Cow. Wild Pine Tar is the rugged, smoky one. See the full scent guide
How long does a bar last?
For one person showering once a day, a 5.5 oz bar should last about a month. Keep it on a dish that drains and out of the shower stream, and it will last longer. How long bar soap lasts
Will it work for my skin?
Everybody's skin is different, so we don't make promises about it. Every bar is real soap, not a detergent bar, and every scent uses fragrance. If you have known sensitivities, check the full ingredient list on the product page, or email us before you order and we'll help you choose.
Can I use it on my face?
Plenty of customers do. It's the same bar either way, so use what you're comfortable with and keep it out of your eyes.

Does Field Issue stop sweat?

How should I put it on?
Apply a few light passes to clean, completely dry underarms, then give it a minute before you get dressed. Full how-to
Laundry Soap
How much do I use?
Two tablespoons for a regular load, one for HE or smaller loads. Add it to the drum before the clothes. Works in all water temperatures and in standard and HE washers. Dosing guide
How many loads are in a pouch?
About 40 to 50 loads per 40 oz pouch, depending on load size and your washer.

Anywhere in the United States, from our shop in Kingston, Ohio. We don't ship internationally yet.
